Engineering Business Studies Information Technology Science Fashion Design and Photography Colleges of Technology ( 7) Specializations - 37 • Offers more than 40 training programs at three levels of qualifications, mostly in technical specializations, such as: • Car Mechanics • Carpentry • A/C & Refrigeration • Electrical Power Installation • …………..etc. Vocational Training Center ( 5 ) Offers several short training programs related to fishing industry Fisheries Institutes ( 2 ) National Training Programs, are subsidized training programs designed to meet specific employer’s requirements

  5. Specialized Colleges • Deck Officers • Marine Engineers • Port, Shipping, and Transport Management • Process Operational Technology • And various short training courses and part-time course. International Maritime College Oman (IMCO) • Various course in Tourism and Hospitality Industry Oman Tourism College

Procedures for applying for the subsidized National Training Programs: • The employers selects candidates for the job from the Workforce Register Authority • If job candidates lack specific skills, employer request the Ministry to up skill the candidates through the NTP • Employer and the Ministry mutually agrees on the training program and the training provider • A binding contract is signed by the Employer, Training Provider, Trainee, and the Ministry of the Manpower

  9. Summary What could be offered to investors? Qualified cadre at various qualification levels • Semi-Skilled, Skilled, Craftsman, Technicians, and Engineers • Access to a comprehensive data-base for job seekers (Workforce Force Register) that includes a substantial number of qualified job seekers at various levels ready for employment • Full assistance in employment procedures • If the candidates in the Labour Force Register doesn’t meet your requirements than the alternative is the subsidized tailor made training programs based on your needs “National Training Programs”
