  1. During normal flow, the valve is open and has no restrictive effect on fluid transportation. There is no pressure drop. 1. Neutral position Normal flow • When a flow in the pipe exceeds a predefined velocity, due to a fault, major leak or breach in the pipeline, the valve flap will lift itself automatically and shut. 2. Excess flow Triggering valve to close • When the pipeline is repaired and the pressure is stabilised on both sides of the valve, the valve flap will automatically fall back and open up for free float of the fluid Closed position Safe for inspection and maintenance 3.
