  2. PBM PI Education Initiative The newest Pharmacy Informatics Workgroup First Face to Face meeting held February 2010 Attendees included: Rob Silverman LuAnne Barron Tom Fagan Shawn Toy Ed Heitman Kris Palazzolo Addie Quansah Rose Grealish

  3. PBM PI Education Initiative Agenda included: EES and EES IT NTEO Resources MUMPS & Fileman Training Status of Legacy Training Modules Considerations for 508 and 6102 Compliance Promotion of Training to the Field Future Training Opportunities

PBM PI Education Initiative EES and EES IT NTEO Resources (Employee Education System) (EES Information Technology, National Training and Education Office) Manage registrations Prerequisite requirements for testing/assessment Support Competency Based Assessment Arrange for credits through LMS for participants Arrange for CE credits with professional organizations Support professional production of training modules Support for contracting and managing meeting venues

PBM PI Education Initiative MUMPS & FileMan Training Basic Classes 2 per year Intermediate Classes 2 per year Advanced Class 1 per year Class registration limited to 30 requires second line supervisor sign off 20 places reserved for Pharmacy, 10 may be OIT, CACs, etc Attendance is required (excused absentees must make up missed session) Prior Class Prerequisites for Intermediate and Advanced Classes Participants will receive LMS credits Present classes are being taped and recorded to be archived as reference materials for self-study opportunities.

  6. PBM PI Education Initiative VistA Legacy Training RPh Technician Drug Accountability ADPac (New) 4 modules have been completed, several more are in the final review stages. Stop by to audition for the “Voice of Pharmacy Informatics”!

  7. PBM PI Education Initiative Considerations for 508 (visually impaired) and 6102 (Privacy) Compliance All training must be reviewed for 6102 compliance screen shots may not contain ANY patient or employee identifiers. Any training posted on a website (www.) must be reviewed for 508 compliance Every picture, arrow, box, line, etc must be explained and ‘readable’ by screen reading software

  8. PBM PI Education Initiative Promotion of PI training to the field SharePoint Site Pod Casts CD’s for on-site training Chief’s call, Clin-1 Call, ADPacs VeHU Virtual Library-Express Train

PBM PI Education Initiative • Future Projects • Offer SQL training for data extraction and management for Fileman Super user • Team with Medication Reconciliation Initiative to prepare training materials for staff and patients • Develop and Support FAQ networking site to have questions asked by members vetted and answered by experts and shared with VA community. • Develop PRE training modules aimed at end users. • Explore emerging technologies/topics.
