Coaches must strategize a game plan (lesson plan) in order to have his/her team (students) be successful when it is time for a game (test).
Coaches are passionate about their job, they want to see their players perform at a high level, just as Teachers are passionate about assisting their students to gain knowledge.
Coaching often requires personal attention to players outside of the sport, just as sometimes Teachers are faced to adapt to the attitudes of their students based on their lifestyle.
As a coach, training your players in practice is vital to their success when it is time to play a real game. This is similar to a teacher giving his/her students practice worksheets in the subject area in preparation for the test.
Coaches must also prepare their players for a very big or important game, while teachers must prepare their students for big tests such as the SAT or ACT.
Coaches must motivate their players to train outside of regular practice hours, just as teachers assign and stress the importance of homework.
Coaches use statistics of previous practices/games and focuses on improving the team in that specific area, as teachers use statistics of previous exams to focus on what to teach the class in order to improve their knowledge.
Coaches must discipline their players for poor performance, or disobeying of rules, just as teachers must discipline their students.
Coaching requires patience, persistence, cooperativeness, and passion, teaching requires the same.
