Building the foundation of India in CSR activities The CSR programs in India have a deep connection with the history of India and as the nation has progressed and changed, the policies, targets and various other important aspects of the CSR projects have changed.
In the mid-1800s, philanthropy was the main cause behind the CSR projects. Industrialists and wealthy merchants shared with the poor people a part of their earnings or helped in the construction of various places of worship.
Then as the Independence era took place and a new foundation of India was being built,
Many corporates wanted to demonstrate their love as well as dedication for the society hence various scientific institutions, schools and colleges were set up by the industrialists.
Then as the time progresses, the CSR projects started having less to do with helping the needed but instead the projects were being converted into different business strategies to boost the company.
