Why NPC? • Fraternity is a social experience based on the fundamental right of a free people to form voluntary associations. It is one of the enrichments of college life. • Purpose of NPC • to assist collegiate and alumnae chapters • cooperate with colleges and universities • foster interfraternal relationships. • Fraternities exist because they: • Provide a good democratic social experience. • Give value beyond college years. • Create, through their ideals, an ever-widening circle of service beyond the membership. • Develop the individual’s potential through leadership opportunities and group effort. • Fill the need of belonging
NPC vs. KU PHA • NPC is the national council which guides all of the NPC panhellenic councils • KU’s Panhellenic Council and Executive Board must follow the UAs, but the rest of the MOI is for our interpretation. • We are the liaison for KU Panhellenic Association (Community) to National Panhellenic Council (NPC) • For the most part, NPC guides, they do not instruct (with the exception of UAs)
