  11. Model Answer Writing Abraham Lincoln is considered one of the greatest American presidents. He had many qualities that made him a great leader. First, he was a patriot. This means that he loved his country. I think this is important for a leader. Second, he had determination. He didn’t have much schooling, but he loved reading. So, he read as many books as he could find. Also, he didn’t want to be a farmer. So, he tried many jobs. He finally decided to become a lawyer. This led him into politics. Third, he had a commitment to excellence. He banned slavery and brought equality to all people in America. He made the country stronger. Last, he was a good listener. He realized that he couldn’t run the country himself. So, he listened to those around him. This helped him become a great leader. These are just a few of the qualities that I think Abraham Lincoln had. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest leaders in American history.
