Load Pictures into iPhoto • Drag from desktop • Scan in from scanner • Import from website
Choose music that matches your poem • Load into iTunes from a CD or mp3 or aif file or Create your own in Garage Band
Music from Garage Band 1. Open Garage Band 2. Create a project X 3. Click on loops
Music from Garage Band 5. Choose a sound-instrument-loop and 6. Drag it up to the tracks
Music from Garage Band X 7. Drag other loops to tracks 8. When song is done Use Share to send to iTunes
Enter iMovie (06) Create a New Project Name your project
Putting in Poem Voice Over X Click on clock in lower left to work in Timeline mode 2 Click on Media (1) and then Audio (2) Note the red dot which is for recording your voice (3) 3 1
Record your poem Click on the red dot (x) and begin reading your poem. Click on it again when you are done. Your voice will show as as purple in the 2nd time line (xx) x xx SAVE! (open apple S)
ADDING PICTURES x Click on Photos in The Media mode (x). Put your playhead (xx) at the beginning of your audio clip xx xxx Click on a picture that you have loaded into iPhoto that will match your first sentence. Determine how many Seconds your audio last and match the picture length. Click box on or off for Ken Burns effect.(xxx) Apply. SAVE!
ADDING TRANSITIONS 2 Click on Editing (1) and then Transitions (2). x Place playhead In between Clips (3) Drag the symbol next to it to the playhead (x) 1 3 x x
Allow Transition to Render Check to make sure your transition does not shorten your pictures to the point where they are out of sync with your audio. You may have to adjust the length of your clips or your transitions.
Lengthening Clips 1 2 Click on Edit (1) and then Create Still Frame (2). A 5 second clip of your picture will appear in your tray. Drag your picture from the tray to your timeline. You will have to remove any transitions or split clip and insert it in the middle.
Adding Text 2 Click on Editing (1) and then Titles (2). Choose Scrolling Block (3) Type the first line of your poem (4). Uncheck the Over Black box. (5) 3 4 5 1
Overlaying Titles The red line will indicate that the text is rendering and will disappear when it is done. If you wish to delete the text on a clip, click once and it will disappear. If you click twice, the entire clip will disappear. Continue adding text by typing in each line and adding them individually to each clip. SAVE!!!
Adding Music 3 2 Click on Media (1) then Audio (2) and then View (3) and then Show Clip Volume levels (4). Click on iTunes (5) and choose a song (6)to drag down to the 3rd space on the timeline. 4 5 6 1 Once the song loads you can slide it up and down the timeline. Using the volume lines, clicking will create a dot from which the whole line of volume can be adjusted. Adjust music and voice over.
Saving Project 1 Click on Share (1). choose Quicktime or iDVD to save project to desktop.
