  1. Desde la toma del poder por los bolcheviques hasta 1944, el himno de la Unión Soviética fue La Internacional. El himno soviético fue aceptado oficialmente como himno de la Unión Soviéticael 15 de marzo de 1944.La música la compuso A. V. Aleksandrov. La letra fue escrita por Sergey Vladimirovich Mikhalkov.

  2. En 1977 se revisó la letra, y fue eliminadatoda referencia a Stalin.Después de la caída de la URSS,Rusia adoptó un nuevo himno, sin letra,que nunca fue popular. A finales de 2000, la melodía del himno soviético se adoptó como himno nacional ruso y se escribió una nueva letra.
