  3. What is a wiki? A wiki space is a space of your own usually devoted to one topic. Each space can hold many pages, files, and images.

  4. Types of wikis There are three types of wikis Public: can be viewed or edited by anyone. Protected: can be viewed by anyone but can only be edited by members of the space. Private: can only be viewed or edited by members of the space. Costs money to have this.

  5. What is a blog? The word blog is an abbreviation of weblog A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. Then they comment on it or link to it or email you. Or not.

Educational benefits Can be used to showcase your school to the wider world Families and friends can see what is happening in your class and is another tool of communication between home and school Students can create and link their own pages to a central wiki space Allows a global audience for students work. Students can post achievements and raise their own bar. Literacy skills are being learnt and utilised in different ways. Allows out of school students to be able to join in class activities.
