Alabama High School Diploma with Advanced Endorsement To be an Honor Graduate, you must have a 90 or higher GPA.
Credit Recovery Students are eligible to apply for Credit Recovery if the final grade earned in a course required for graduation was between 40% and 59%. Students may repeat a course in its entirety during the next school term (free) or in summer school ($150). 70% is the highest grade possible in Credit Recovery. Not guaranteed – May not be free – May be online
About your GPA Grade Point Average • Used by colleges and employers • 4.0 scale • Average of your semester points • A = 4 • B = 3 • C = 2 • D = 1 • Class Rank based on weighted GPA • Advanced Courses add 1 point • Honors courses (Pre-AP, AP) add 1.5 points

Attendance Policy • Section 16-28-3 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, provides in part that: • Every child between the ages of six and seventeen years of age shall be required to attend public, private or church school or be instructed by a competent private tutor for the entire length of the school term in every scholastic year .... • Section 16-28-12 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, requires that: • “Any parent/guardian who enrolls a student in school will be responsible for the students’ regular attendance and proper conduct. Also, parent/guardian who fails to compel each child to regularly attend and to properly conduct himself/herself as a pupil, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined not more than $100.00 and may also be sentenced to hard labor for county for not more than 90 days.”
Attendance Policy • A student in grades 9-12 who accumulates seven (7) absences in any credit bearing course during a school year must attend an attendance committee hearing along with a parent/guardian. • A student in grades 9-12 who accumulates more than seven (7) absences in any credit bearing course in any given semester during a school year may be denied credit.
