  2. Daily Learning Target/Language Objectives Staff will know the District and Building Bilingual Models. Staff will be able to use Data Director to access information on all their Bilingual students. Staff will be able to use this information to support Bilingual students.

Talk with your Neighbor-True or False? • The majority of Wenatchee’s Bilingual program students are at the middle school level. • Every school in Wenatchee has a bilingual model. • The number of Bilingual program students in our district has increased steadily over the last five years. • A student who earns a Level 3 on the WLPT is close to exiting and needs few accommodations.

What are the Language Proficiency Levels? • From the WLPT we get: • Scale scores for each communication area • A composite score for the test • A level for the test • A descriptor for the language proficiency level • The document that puts this all together AND shows skills mastered and targeted objectives is…..

  14. Data Director How to get there… • WSD Home Page, Learning and Teaching, Instructional Technology, Data Director Click here to go to log in screen.

  15. Log In Log in with your unique user name and password.

  16. Getting Started Click on “Report Card”.

  17. Filters 1. Check both boxes. 2. Drop down menu to “Show all”. 3. Click “Search”.

  18. Find your Assessment Report Cards… Click on “2011-2012 Assessment Report Card”.

  19. Generate Report Cards Click on “Generate Report Card”.

  20. Build Your Student List NEXT: click on “Generate Report Card Student List”. Click on “Use rostered students” to see report cards on all your students. Click on “Build student list by student search” to tailor your search to a specific population.

  21. Advanced Search Click on “Advanced Search”to expand search criteria.

  22. Search Selection • Select your search criteria. (Check the Bilingual “yes” box.) 2. Click “GO”.

  23. Choose Your Students 3. Click on “Generate Report Card”. 2. Choose your sort order, “Student”. • Choose individual students or “Check All”.

Proficiency Levels of Your Students A quick tally of your students’ language abilities and needs. • Generate Assessment Report Cards for your Bilingual program students. • Record WLPT levels of your students on your Proficiency Levels sheet. • Deeper look: Tally the levels of your students in the area of listening.

  26. What’s Next? For completion of the course you must: Complete the online evaluation, including questions on page 3. (Focus on the Bilingual information, Assessment Report Card and the Language Proficiency Levels) This must be done by Sept 2. **If you have not signed up for the class, do so NOW!!
