Images • Insertion of Image Joins Text Area • Custom Content • Blog • Forum • Drag Images into the Text Editor • Can do Multiple Images Now • Magnification When Pointing to Images • Can Resemble a Slideshow • Can Align Image Differently than Text in Portlet • Size Restrictions Should be Gone • Fix Copyovers of Old Custom Content Portlets with Images to See New Image Tool (Handout) • Will Show This in the Breakout Session for Images/Forums
Old and New Image Tools You will have to delete the “old” image to see new tool if Spring Course was Copied Over with an image. Images & Text Join Together in This Area
Forum “New Look” • Edit Mode including New Rearrangement Technique • Hierarchy • Forums • Categories • Topics • Replies & Posts • Threaded Discussion after Reply Posts are Made
Forums Continued • Ability to See Read and Unread Posts and Replies • Instructor Can Alter Visibility and Do Private Comments • New “User List” to Assess Participation and Analyze for Grading • Private Comments, Restrict Topics to Certain Users • Many New Options • More In-Depth Training at a Later Breakout Session
Table Objects – Less Wide • In Many Places, Information in Columns/Rows is Less Wide • Gradebook • Attendance • Coursework • Announcements • Class Lists
Coursework – File Exchanges • New Link for downloading all submitted files as a .zip so you can grade them offline. Makes it easier to open each and annotate, then resave for uploading later.
Gradebook • New Links for Going to Attendance and Coursework • Attendance Detail Link • Attendance Page • Setup Attendance and Other • Coursework Detail Link • Coursework Page • Setup Coursework • Inactive Assignments will no longer appear in Gradebook Title Columns for Students • Instructor Should Still See
Calendar Events • New Location Link (Upper Left) • Takes you to that Coursework Assignment if Setup on Coursework as an Event on Calendar • Student Clicks on His Calendar and Links to Specific/Class and Assignment for Details
Course Content Import • If you Encounter any Difficulties Importing .zip Test Files in Blackboard Format, please contact Jackie or David. • Users must be trained and added as Users of this tool
My Pages – File Cabinet • New Course Cartridge Tab • In preparation for next version where entire course packages/cartridges can be imported from publisher websites
Copy Courses • New Option in Forums Box • Maintain Existing Role Permissions for Each Category and Topic without Re-Assigning Permissions to Post
Attendance • Problem with Tracking Attendance by Minute or Hour • Unexcused absences are not being penalized for grading purposes when tracked by minute or hour • Recommend not using this feature of “Minute” or “Hour”, but Just “Whole Sessions” if Attendance is a % of the final grade.

End of Semester Hiding Pages • Use Context Manager to Remove Student View of Selected Pages from Past Course • Students Can Get to Courses After Ended • Sensitive Pages, like Coursework, may need to have their View Removed
