CURRENT STRATEGIES Create a culture of sustainability • Improve sustainability literacy • Create & promote sustainable curriculum • Sustainability as the first impression when stepping onto campus • Create a network amongst local university communities • Infuse a sense of urgency • Communicate sustainability results
PRELIMINARY TACTICS • Define sustainability terminology specific to NC State • Develop template for messaging for all communicators to use • Integrate into new student/employee orientation • Encourage units & individuals (10% local, as example) • Utilize Dining locations – info tables/awareness • Promote campus walk/bike safety • Decrease vehicle usage through campus
