What will my child be learning? There are 7 areas of learning The 3 prime areas they develop first are:- • Communication and Language • Physical development • Personal, social and emotional development As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas. • Literacy • Mathematics • Understanding the world • Expressive arts and design
Progress: We are assessing children all the time in each area of learning.. We use these assessments to plan your child’s learning. Each child has an online ‘Learning Journey’ which is individual to them and records their progress and achievements against the age appropriate statements. There are Parent Consultations every term . We discuss progress and your child’s Next Steps in learning. Home Learning to support your child at home. We have a variety of parent workshops planned over the next term. Praise and Self Esteem This is so important for your child’s self esteem and progress. We give verbal praise all the time and often reward with stickers and stampers. Observation:

A Typical day includes:- A mixture of Discovery Time (child initiated) and Group Time (adult directed) Visual Timetable A visual time table supports your children in knowing what will happen during the day.
Group Times Number Time Phonics Explorers PE Music and Dance RE Write Dance A Typical Day Each day the children will take part in:- • A sound/phonics session. • A Number Time Session. • An extended time to learn and discover through play. • An activity such as Explorers, gardening, music, dance, PE, RE or Write dance.
