LATHROP INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL CollegePrep – CCGI Work Values Sorter
Earlier this year you took an Interest Profiler with Ms. Fosado or Mr. Raya, in your Social Science classes. Today we are going to continue getting to know you, by completing the CCGI’s Work Values Sorter. Before we do this let’s explore what a value is. • So what is a value? Turn to your neighbor and share your thoughts. • How many different values did you come up with?
Value can be the amount of money something costs or is worth. • Value can also be how much you desire something. • Value can also indicate a length of time. • Value can also be used in math to indicate an amount used in an algebraic term. • However, value can also be something a person uses to guide his decisions. • Values are the standards a person uses to judge what is important in life. • A person who values learning, for example, will do their best in school. • Another example could be someone who values honesty and doesn’t lie. • What other examples of values can you come up with? • This is the definition of value we will use for the Work Values Sorter. • You will need your chrome book to sign on to the CCGI web site.
