けいようし Adjectives The Japanese adjectives are sorted into two groups; • i-adjective (True adjectives) and • na-adjective (Quazi adjectives).
i-adjectives • The reason why they are called the i-adjectives is that allof them end with aい, oい, uい or iい.
Body/clothing い adjectives おおきいちいさい みにくいうつくしい かわいいかっこいい ながいみじかい ほそいふとい せが たかいせが ひくい
なadjectives • As opposed to the い-adjective ending with -い, the なadjectives have no special rules. • As a matter of fact, a few of them end with –eい, e.g.きれい

Joining 2 adjectives • How you join 2 adjectives together depends on whether it is a い or な adjective.
Joining い adjectives • When you join 2 い adjectives together, you drop the last い and add くて to the end • For example: tall and cool せが たかいくて かっこういい
れんしゅう • Practice joining 2 い adjectives あおい + 大(おお)きい 小(ちい)さい + かわいい 黒(くろ)い + ながい ほそい + みじかい
