  1. ROSTOV STATE TRANSPORT UNIVERSITY (RSTU)

  2. The Rostov State Transport University was founded in 1929. At the present moment more than 14 000 students are trained in programs of higher and secondary vocational training. The spectrum of training programs is very wide: transport communication engineers, machine building engineers, power engineers, tribology engineers, building engineers, economists, managers and lawyers.

  3. The rector of the University isVladimirIvanovichKolesnikov,member of Russian Academy of Sciences.

  4. Now Rostov State Transport University is one of the largest and the most prestigious transport institutions of Russia. It comprises nine faculties, International Institute of Business and Law, Military Training Centre, Lyceum. The university has 42 chairs.

  5. The students and the teaching stuff have at their disposal modern laboratories including modern training equipment, working models and plants. There are computer and multimedia classrooms, where the students can be taught according to individual training programs.

  6. The high educational and scientific level of the Rostov State Transport University is greatly appreciated both in Russia and abroad. About 700 teachers work in the University, among them: 82 Doctors of Sciences and 370 Candidates of Sciences. One Academician – member of Russian Academy of Sciences, corresponding member of Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences and 40 members and corresponding members of other Academies teach in the University.

  7. Nowadays more than 450 scientists of the South of Russia work in the Tribology scientific centre of RSTU. The centre comprises: ·laboratory for nanophysics and surface chemistry; ·laboratory for mathematical simulation in tribology; ·laboratory for diagnostics and dynamics of friction systems; ·laboratory for physical chemistry of tribological processes; ·laboratory for dynamics of rolling equipment and high-speed train operation; ·laboratory for elastohydrodynamic lubrication; ·laboratory for basic physical research.

  8. Leading scientists of the University conduct researches in following scientific fields: ·rolling-stock; ·power supply of railway transport; ·information transfer systems and optimization of technological communication; ·safety improving of train movements; ·structural concepts and methods of railway track analysis; ·perfection of economic and financial activity of railways; ·development and implementation of resource saving technologies.
