LE CARATTERISTICHE DEL VETRO • Il vetro è una massa amorfa ,trasparente ed omogenea e proprio per questo come materiale è molto utilizzato; • Quando viene sottoposta ad alta temperatura non fonde diventando liquida ma assume una forma pastosa; • Il vetro è un materiale riciclabile infatti i suoi rottami sono utilizzati per fabbricare altre bottiglie o altri vetri con un notevole risparmio energetico.

  3. FABBRICAZIONE DEL VETRO • Il vetro è prodotto macinando le varie materie prime (silice, soda, calce, ossidi, rottami …) e poi mescolandole; • Successivamente si fondono in forni a crogiolo, a vasca o a canale; • Dopo si procede con la formatura per ottenere vetro piano o in lastre o cavo per le bottiglie. • Il metodo più usato per formare il vetro piano è il float glass : il vetro si espande su un bagno di stagno fuso; • La lastra viene dopo raffreddata e tagliata automaticamente. • Il metodo tradizionale di formatura viene ancora utilizzato a Murano.
