Jesuits & Ignatian Spirituality • The spirituality of PopeFrancis and the Jesuits is Ignatian, ie based on the spiritual insights of St Ignatius of Loyola. • Some other religious orders share this spirituality • The Christian Life Communities are a lay movement based on Ignatian spirituality. • Jesuit spirituality is Ignatian but you don’t have to be Jesuit to be Ignatian. www.social-spirituality.net www.facebook.com/socialspirituality

Contemplatives in Action • We find God where God has already come to meet us - in the people, places and events of history. • Spiritual Exercises– contemplation of the incarnation. God gazes on us with love. Can we respond in love? • La Storta – will we carry the cross with Jesus? • Ignatian spirituality is world affirming. Ignatian Discernment • Discernment is about becoming free to love and to serve, choosing in union with the will of God. • God deals with each of us personally.
