  4. Why Solr? • Originally a sorting solution, not a search solution. • Used for search as well as data access. • Some sites use hybrid approach – spidering + Solr MTV Networks and Solr

  5. Configuration • 15 sites • 1.3 (with 1.4 DataImportHandler) • 3-4 JBoss instances per site • Volume varies with site, 10k to 1m queries per day.
