Career Opportunities Available at Hoag Hospital Presented By: Dr Eric Davies University High School Anatomy & Physiology
Here at University High School, we have many career oriented and college bound students and as a result my class incorporates a unit on career possibilities. The students are to choose 3 possible careers that they are interested in and research the following: - Schooling necessary (Trade school, Community College, 4 Year University) - Length of school necessary and cost associated - Certification and/or licensure requirements - Scope of practice - Salary range - Potential for success At the conclusion, they choose one of the careers and present it to the class.

Through my own personal experience at Hoag Hospital, I was able see first hand how all of these different health professionals must work together in order to deliver prompt and precise care.
From my visit, my case had to interact with all of these individuals: - ER Triage nurse - Admittance personal - Orderly for transportation to different areas of the hospital - ER nurse - Doctor - X-ray Tech - Radiologist - Pharmacist - Dentist As a result of this interdisciplinary cooperation, I have returned to pre injury status with no long term complications.
I would like to thank Penelope Skaff for the opportunity to broaden my curricular unit on careers available in the Health Care field.
