Earning Credits and Grade Promotion Requirements • Students earn credits by passing their classes (passing is a minimum grade of 70) • 7 high school course credits earned in a year • There are no meetings or discussions about moving a student to the next grade. The number of course credits earned is the sole determining factor. • Grade Promotion Requirements:
EOC Courses • All students must pass 8 courses with an EOC. These tests count 20% of the final grade.
Other Considerations • Any student planning to go to a four year college, in the state of Georgia, must earn credit in at least two courses of the same foreign language • Graduation Honors Policy set by the TCSS Board of Education • Infinite Campus Access Contact Mrs. Taylor
HOPE SCHOLARSHIP • 3.0 HOPE GPA (Core classes only; determined by the Georgia Student Finance Commission) • HOPE Scholarship Rigor Requirements • 4 courses from following list required to receive HOPE • Certain Math courses • Advanced Science (Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy) • AP classes • Dual Enrollment core classes • Advanced Foreign Language Full List on GAfutures.org
Dual Enrollment • Earn college credit while satisfying high school graduation requirements • Available to 9th -12th grade students • Must pass the participating college’s required entrance exam and be admitted to the college • Courses chosen from the approved MOWR state list • Required meeting between the parent, student and high school counselor BEFORE course registration at the college
