Certificated Participated in the San Marcos Writing Project 2011 & 2012 Mother of 5 Ms. Kristi Pearson Masters in Education – APU Teaching in TVUSD for 10 years Taught 3rd, 4th, and 5thgrade Specializes in Math & Science G.A.T.E. Certificated Participated in the San Marcos Math Project 3 Year Contributor for EETT (Tech) Grant Mother of 3 BOYS!

Room 39’s Daily Schedule… 9:00 – 11:00 11:00 – 12:00 12:00 – 12:40 12:45 – 1:50 1:55 – 2:10 2:10 – 3:10 3:20 Language Arts Rotations & Writer’s Workshop Integrated Social Studies/ Writing Lunch Math Recess Social Studies (Mon) Science ( Tue & Thu) Dismissal Special Days: Students will participate in Library on Monday mornings, Computer Lab on Friday mornings, FAST running program on Tuesday & Thursday mornings, and “Friday Fun” on Friday afternoons!

Homework Requirements: • Language Arts: • Reading Log (30 minutes per night) with 5 minutes of writing – due Thursday. • Grammar, Root Words, and Vocabulary words are given each week for homework as well. Word of the Day test is on Monday. • Math: • Daily Homework is given – please check reminder binder and website • Excel (2 leveled sheets) are handed out on Friday and due back the following Friday. • Social Studies: • Mostly Project driven! Please check for papers or website for more information! • Science: • Infrequently science homework is given. There will be 2 major projects due throughout the year. Please check website for more information!

They take up too much room!

Technology… • Technology allows the students to learn and test themselves in unique ways. • Our classroom has 3 laptops, 1 desktop, an overhead projector, a document camera, a webcam, and 5 Netbooks for student use. • A classroom website is kept up to date on a weekly basis. Please check for homework and upcoming events! Classroom Website • NOW… please fill out and tear off the bottom portion of the Website Release… and place on the table in the hallway when leaving! Classroom Management! Classroom Rules: • Treat all people and property with respect and courtesy. • Do your best at all times! • Use your time wisely and ALWAYS be prepared. • Do nothing to disturb or distract others. Consequences: • 1st Offense: Warning • 2nd Offense: Lose 10 Behavior points • 3rd Offense: Miss a recess or lunch • 4th Offense: Miss both recess & lunch plus Parent/Teacher conference “Severe Clause” Severe misbehavior such as fighting, open defiance, or vulgar language will result in immediate removal from the classroom. BE COOL! FOLLOW THE RULES!
We love REWARDS!!! Student points.Each day, students are responsible for their behavior, homework, classwork, and are asked to be focused, on task, organized, and prepared. They earn points for each and may cash them in for special rewards! Table points.End of the week winners are the first to be dismissed for lunch and recess the following week! Popcorn Jar.Popcorn kernels are added to a jar each week for great overall class behavior. Full jar = class party!!! Paw Pride. Pats are given for diligent work habits. Two students are chosen every Friday to go to Mrs. Hammerton’s Prize Box where they can choose from a wonderful array of goodies! Student Weekly Awards.Students will be awarded for GREAT achievements at Friday Flag Salute. Student Semester Awards.Four students are selected at the end of each semester for special recognition. Teachers Pet. One student will be chosen each week to sit at a special desk with special privileges and share their story with the class on Friday.

Volunteers!!! Yes!!! We LOVE Volunteers!!! In fact, our classroom will NOT be the same without YOU!!! If you have a “hidden” talent, love being in charge, or just really want to come and hang out with us on a weekly basis… please mark the appropriate box on the volunteer sheet that Mrs. Orner is now passing out to you…
