Corridor Stewardship I-80 Corridor System Master Plan • Taking the Longview • Communities are connected in multiple ways • Economically • Socially • Culturally • Scarce resources • Declining fuel tax revenues • Anti tax political environment • Coordinated action to improve outcomes for all parties
Corridor Stewardship • Comprehensive and inclusive strategic dialogue required • Identify existing proposed ideas that improve the corridor • Improved insight to diverse interrelated issues throughout the I-80 corridor • Generate a vision and plan for I-80 that enhance the future for corridor communities • Establish a stakeholder supported system for strategically implementing the plan
Corridor Stewardship • Dialogue Champions • Washoe County Regional Transportation Commission worked with the Nevada Congressional delegation to advance corridor stewardship • Nevada Department of Transportation partners to provide facilitative support • Dialogue extended to include stakeholders in California, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming • Consultant facilitation assistance secured
