  2. Who is Kristoff Kristofferson? • Kristoff is better known as Kris. • Mother: Mary Ann Ashbrook. • Father: Lars Henry Kristofferson. • He was born June 22nd 1936 in Brownsville Texas.

  3. Childhood Years • Kris is the oldest of three children. • He was expected to be a good role model. • Kris’ father always pushed him to join the army. • Sister: Karen Kirschenbauer • Brother: Kraigher Kristofferson

Army Career • In 1960 Kris joined the Air Force just as his father had done. • He earned the rank of captain. • A couple years later he became a helicopter pilot. • Three years later he quit to continue to pursue his songwriter dream. • In 2002 he was awarded Veteran of the Year by the American Veterans Award Team. Why is he famous? • He wrote his first song when he was 11, it was called I Hate Your Ugly Face. • His songwriting career didn’t take off until 1966 when Dave Dudley recorded Vietnam Blues. • He has been in quite a few movies. • His most famous movie is A Star is Born. • Also he can play the harmonica very well.
