    3. 3 Deployment Medication - Issues Many soldiers in theater ran out of prescription medications There was no process to identify all medication requirements Issue for all units, DAC and Contractors Most medications are NOT in medical sets; therefore theater has no visibility of requirements There are no readily available IT solutions Major issue – much broader than med supply

    4. 4 Medication Management Concept Objectives Obtain visibility of chronic medication requirements prior to deployment Ensure appropriate screening of chronic medication requirements Assess deployability Align Rx with JDF where appropriate Ensure soldiers deploy with adequate supply of medication Ensure DIV/BDE surgeon know needs of their soldiers Clear strategy for prescription refill for deployed soldiers Leverage institutional capabilities (MTF, TMOP) Validate APO and soldiers addresses Provide soldier feed back links ID need for clinical follow-up
