What is Title I? • Funding to accelerate students who need extra support in reading, writing or math • The goal of Title I is a higher quality of education for every child
How does Title I work? • The federal government provides funding to states. • States educational agencies send the money to the school district. • The school district identifies eligible schools and provides Title I resources. • Title I serves children through Schoolwide Programs or Targeted Assistance Programs.
Blue Ridge Primary and Green Meadows Intermediate Elementaries • Are Schoolwide Title I schools • All of our students benefit from the Title I Program
Our goal is to partner with parents to make their children’s educational experience at Blue Ridge Primary and Green Meadows Intermediate a success. Information will be provided in various ways: - School website - PTO/PTCO meetings - Alert Now messages - School newsletters A copy of our Parent Involvement Policy will be made available. Parent Involvement
Title I money helps pay for our interventionists, literacy and math coaches and paraprofessionals.
Title I money helps pay for our interventionists, literacy and math coaches and paraprofessionals.
Title I money has been used to purchase Smart Boards, iPads and computers for our buildings.
Title I Funds for 2013-2014 will be used for: • Parent Involvement -materials for Title I nights -books for students • Staff training • Books and learning materials • Salaries of Title 1 Staff
