Coordinate Proofs • A coordinate proof is a proof that uses the coordinate plane to help prove items • It will also use definitions, postulates, and theorems to prove the said item
2(4x + 5) = 3x + 25 8x + 10 = 3x + 25 5x +10 = 25 5x = 15 x=3
2(2x + 7) = 5x – 1 4x + 14 = 5x – 1 14 = x – 1 15 = x
Crossbar would form the midsegment, therefore the crossbar is half the length of the distance between the two legs. Therefore the distance between the two legs is 72 inches.
