  1. Chemical Reaction By: Nicholas Eury

  2. Abstract The purpose of “Chemical Reaction” is that I wanted to see the reaction when vinegar and baking soda are mixed. I thought that when I added the “chemicals” they would mix and shoot out of the bottle in foam. I was partially wrong though, the chemicals mixed and came out of the bottle, but didn’t shoot out.

  3. Planning Materials: • Empty 2 liter soda bottle • 1 cup baking soda • 1 cup Vinegar • Measuring cup

  4. Procedure • Gather Materials • Take Bottle and add one cup of Red Wine Vinegar to bottle. • Then take one cup of Baking Soda and add to the bottle. • Repeat with tablespoons • Observe

  5. Data

  6. What I’ve Learned I learned that the chemicals in baking soda and vinegar foam when combined. I also learned that one tablespoon of each combined doesn’t have a good reaction, but when to cups of each are combined the reaction foamed out of the bottle and kept foaming for about 5 minutes. What if I added Mentos to the vinegar? What would happen I added different things like soda to the solution?

  8. Acknowledgements My mom helped me by buying the materials and helping me measure the amounts of what I mixed. Thanks
