  3. P1 Skills Audit • Aim: to find out strengths and weaknesses to help identify possible career and job opportunities • Mark out of four for each statement (4 = strongly agree) • Total up score for each section • Identify areas which are your strengths • Identify areas which are your weaknesses

P1 Skills Audit • Why did you complete the skills audit • Explain how you completed the questionnaire • Which were your areas of strength and what aspects do you like doing (eg oral communication – “I like taking part in discussions”) • Which were your areas of weakness? • Include a copy of your “Characteristics Audit”

  5. P1 Careers Research JED (Job Explorer Database) Aim of the questionnaire: to find out which careers I might be suited to. Explain how you did the questionnaire and include screenshots. Show a screenshot of your results. Identify THREE careers from JED and copy information: Job 1: “Teacher” Find out: • Details of what you would do on a day-to-day basis • Work and Pay • Entry Qualifications required and Training • Insert two images (Click on “Pictures”)

Example Dietician The Job: • Gives practical advice about diet to patients in hospital and the community. • Works out a sensible diet for patients who need a controlled diet because of medical Conditions such as diabetes. • Also gives nutritional advice to people such as pregnant women and the parents of young children. Work and Pay: Pay is on a nationally agreed scale in the NHS. A newly qualified dietitian working for the NHS earns from £20k-£26k a year, rising to £33k as a dietitian specialist. Dietetic team managers can earn up to £38k a year.

  11. P2 Application for a job Task: • Complete an application form • Include a copy of your CV (Curriculum Vitae) • Write a letter of application What is the job you are applying for? Where was it advertised? What tasks will you have to complete?
