  3. $$$ • Today Americans only spend approximately 10 cents of disposable income on food and the farmer only receives 1 penny of this and the rest goes towards outputs

  4. Precision Ag Equipment • Precision Agriculture equipment has become a standard accessory for farming equipment today.

  5. John Deere - GreenStar • 1996 - John Deere first introduced satellite-based DGPS systems with 1-2 meter accuracy • 2000 – accuracy enhanced to 30 cm. • 2004- accuracy enhanced to 10 cm.

  6. GreenStar – GPS Package • GreenStar consists of a mobile processor – this is the brains of the GreenStar system. • A StarFire Position Receiver – Dual-frequency receiver • GreenStar display

  7. GreenStar Parallel Tracking • Parallel Tracking uses GPS signals to pinpoint the tractor’s location in the field. Once a path has been designated the visual and audible indicators help keep you parallel to this line at all times. • Another feature point-of-reference mode. Mark a point with the GPS and Parallel Tracking will take you back to the point

  8. GreenStar AutoTrac • The system uses satellites to steer the tractor in the field. Adjustments are still needed for the in the field obstacles and turns • Accurate within 10 cm Picture of the inside of the cab equipped with AutoTrac

  10. Yield Monitors Cost-effective way to determine the variation in moisture and yields within a field. AutoTrac Increase yields by better placement of fertilizer or chemicals. Less fuel usage and time in the field Parallel Tracking Improves efficiency – saves time and money by reducing overlap of chemical or fertilizer GreenStar System can be moved from a tractor to tractor without any special equipment Advantages
