THE EXAMS. DUH DUH DUHHHHHHH. What will you have to do. In both the practice exams, and the external exams, you will have 3 papers. You can choose to do all three, or two or just one. If you don’t want to do one of the papers, do not write on it at all.

What will you have to do • In both the practice exams, and the external exams, you will have 3 papers. • You can choose to do all three, or two or just one. • If you don’t want to do one of the papers, do not write on it at all. • 91003: Interpret sources of an historical event of significance to New Zealanders (3 Q) • 91005: Describe the causes and consequences of an historical event (Essay) • 91006 Describe how a significant historical event affected New Zealand society (3 Q)

  3. 91003: Sources • You will receive a resource booklet with sources all relating to a New Zealand event. • You will have to answer three questions.

  4. Question one: • In the past two exams, the question has been a WHY question. • Why did it happen, why did they make this decision, why did it have an impact on New Zealand…

  5. Question two • Question two has been about groups of people • You must identify two groups • Then you might be asked to explain their perspectives on the event, their responses to the event, or how the event affected them.

  6. Question three: • Question three is about looking at sources from a historian’s perspective. • You might be asked to draw conclusions about the event from the sources. • You might be asked to assess the usefulness and reliability of a source. • You might be asked to suggest other sources that could add additional information.

  7.
