There are 5 types of Fungi • Threadlike • Sac • Club • Imperfect • Lichens
Threadlike Examples: Molds (shapeless and fuzzy fungi) Reproduces asexually
Sac • Largest group of fungi • Examples: yeasts and truffles • Can reproduce sexually & asexually • Useful fungi: food, medicine, and vitamins
Club • Example: most grocery stores mushrooms • Looks like little umbrellas • Reproduce sexually using spores & hyphae
Imperfect • Examples: athletes foot fungus (bad) Penicillum (good) • Reproduce asexually • Some are used to make cheese, soy sauce, and cola drinks.
Lichens • Combination of fungus and alga. • Only need air, light, and minerals to grow.
