  2. When we consider kingdoms we think of them in earthly terms

  3. IT IS TRUE THAT THESE TERMS ARE USED IN HELPING TO CONVEYING THE IDEA OF CHRISTS KINGDOM THERE IS A: • KING • KINGDOM • TERITORY • SUBJECTS • THE KINGS AUTHORITATIVE LAW

WHEN CHRIST SPOKE OF HIS KINGDOM HE SPOKE OF THE SPIRITUAL RATHER THAN TEMPORAL • John 18:36  Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. • This is an idea that has been often misunderstood by men. • An example would be the Holy Crusades

  5. “SETTING UP THE KINGDOM” Today as we consider Kingdom of Christ there are four questions that I want us to consider: • What does the Bible say about the Kingdom in Prophecy? • What does the Bible say about the Kingdom in Preparation? • What does the Bible say about the Kingdom in terms of Admission? • What does the Bible say about the Kingdom in the Present?

  6. “SETTING UP THE KINGDOM IN PROPHECY” • “KNOWING THIS FIRST THAT NO PRPHECY OF THE SCRIPTURE IS OF ANY PRIVATE INTERPRETATION. FOR THE PROPHECY CAME NOT IN OLD TIME BY THE WILL OF MAN, BUT HOLY MEN OF GOD SPAKE AS THEY WERE MOVED BY THE HOLY GHOST.” 2ND PETER 1:20-21

  7. “SETTING UP THE KINGDOM IN PROPHECY”760 B.C. • Isaiah 2:2  And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. • 3  And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

PAUL COULD SAY WITH CONFIDENCE: “FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT IN WORD, BUT IN POWER.” 1ST COR. 4:20 “THEN COMETH THE END, WHEN HE SHALL HAVE DELIVERED UP THE KINGDOM OF GOD….” 1ST COR. 15:24 • IN A.D. 64 PAUL WENT ON TO ASSURE THE COLOSSIAN BRETHREN BY SAYING: “…WHO(BEING CHRIST) HATH DELIVERED US FROM THE POWER OF DARKNESS, AND HATH TRANSLATED US INTO THE KINGDOM OF HIS DEAR SON.”

  17. “SETTING UP THE KINGDOM IN THE PRESENT” • JOHN DIDN’T HAVE ANY QUETION ABOUT THE KINGDOM’S EXISTANCE. “I JOHN, WHO AM ALSO YOUR BROTHER, AND COMPANION IN TRIBULATION, AND IN THE KINGDOM…..” REVELATION 1:9 • WHAT ABOUT TODAY THOUGH? DOES THE KINGDOM STILL EXIST? IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE A PART OF IT TODAY?
