Japan • Government launch policies to promote war effort against China and increase industrial production • National mobilization law provided the government’s control over civilian organization, industries, price controls, rations and nationalizing the news and Media • The law gave the government authority to use unlimited budgets on war productions • Japan used millions of slave laborers - more than 18 million people in East Asia
Soviet Union • Had a command economy which had economic and legal system that allows to economy and society to be ready for total war. • Factories in USSR were all required to produce military productions for total war • Suffer immense loss of life in the Eastern Front (European Theatre of WW2) war with Germany caused millions of deaths • 8.7 millions soldiers died in battle against Hitler while millions of civilian died from starvation and massacre • Reopen the Orthodox Church to support War effort
United Kingdom • Legislation that would allow immediate mobilization of the economy of war • Rationing good services was introduce to consumers and manufacturers • Men and Women were conscripted into the army and teenagers were conscripted to work in the coal mines • Children were evacuated to the countryside to avoid bomb raids
