  1. PTSD: Everything You Need to Know What happens when a person feels fearful, shocked and helpless? While experiencing a traumatic event, post-traumatic stress disorder is said to have happened to anyone around. It may affect you for the long term even, including difficulty sleeping which we call “Insomnia” and anxiety. You might have observed people who experience a traumatic event that include shock, anger, rudeness, fear and most important guilt. People go away from time and reactions are common that we see most often in these kinds of people. However, a person suffering from Trauma, for him/her these feelings continue and sometimes increase, other than this it keeps the person from living a normal life. Most often people suffer PTSD for longer than one month and cannot function even before the event occurred. What are the Symptoms of PTSD? Within three months of the event, symptoms of PTSD start but however, in some cases they do not begin after years too. Illnesses vary based on severity and duration. There are people who recover within six months, while others suffer much longer. Following are the four main categories of the Symptoms of PTSD:

Once they recall the anniversary date of the event, they also may feel great distress while remembering them of the trauma. • Due to the trauma, a person may avoid places, situations, people or even thoughts. The person once enjoyed his/her life, can lead to feelings of detachment and isolation from family and friends. What can you observe in a person suffering from trauma? Excessive emotions Difficulty in saying and sleeping Irritation Full of Anger Getting easily startled You may also observe a person suffering physical symptoms such as high blood pressure and heart rate, rapid breathing, You might have had depression or anxiety in the past, or there might be no one to support you, neither your family nor your friends. After a traumatic event, you’re more susceptible to developing PTSD. The genetic factor is commonly included in PTSD. Let’s take an example if your parents are more likely to have a mental health problem, there are chances you may also have the same traumatic stress. Why people develop PTSD? Well, their many reasons have been suggested. People suggest instinctive mechanism that helps you to survive further traumatic experiences which helps the person to survive further. You must better prepare yourself because the flashbacks with PTSD experience may force you to think about the event in detail. What are the physical symptoms that a person suffers when in traumatic stress! The physical effects include sweating, shaking, headaches and stomach problems, aches and pains even the chest pain. There may be frequent infections due to a weakened immune system. You may feel tiredness and sleep disturbances and even other problems. A person’s long term change in behavior contributes to problems and works even the breakdown in relationships. This may lead to a person urging towards consuming more alcohol than previously, misuse drugs and medications. Risk Factors It is almost unclear why some people develop PTSD and others do not. The following risk factors might increase the chance of experiencing symptoms. There may be even some additional problems such as one losing a loved one and losing a job. Lacking social support after an event might be harmful to one suffering from trauma. Throwback to the history of mental health problems or substance use may affect

A chance of having anxiety, depression, and PTSD might affect one’s condition. When should you see a Doctor? After a traumatic event, many people experience symptoms alone. You may seem them crying, anxiety, and difficulty in concentrating but this is not necessary PTSD. If you or your loved ones want back their life, qualified professionals can help by giving effective PTSD treatment. It must be included if: Symptoms continuously creating a difficult situation for more than a month. Symptoms are severe enough to avoid the person bringing back to normal life. The person may harm himself or herself due to this traumatic distress Prevention: Is it possible? People who own a profession in military and emergency services where traumatic events are likely to occur may be offered training or counseling to help them cope or diminish the risk of PTSD. After particular events, a form of briefing known as minor incident stress management takes place for diminishing the risk of stress and PTSD development. However, many a time, questions have raised and also some studies have suggested that it might be harmful as it may intervene with the natural recovery process, let’s take an example, urging people to face memories and emotions once they are ready to do so…!
