People, places, things? c. Who was the poem written for? Why? 3. Determine what the tone and mood of the poem is through key words and meanings. In the bottom right hand corner, create 2 labels-one that says tone: and one that says mood: and answer those. 4. Go through the poem and highlight all the words that help create the mood of the poem. 5. Re-write the poem on a new sheet of paper. Center the poem in the middle of the paper and create the mood of the poem by creatively writing the mood words in bold, color, italics, etc. 6. Finally, create a background for the poem that reflects the mood.
