EBRD Approach • Intensive relationship with managing authorities: office in each country • Work with you on project preparation: build on ISPA track record • Structure financing to suit project - sovereign or: • municipal non-sovereign financing • state-owned company non-sovereign financing • private sector • SME and small municipality financing through local banks • TC to support project and institution-building
Typical project opportunities • Water and wastewater treatment • Other environmental projects • National rail and road infrastructure • Urban transport and development Structure/approach may vary, but common elements: • Keep project preparation process well focussed and on track • Add value through institution-building
Working with you on project development Your concerns include: • Efficient project scope and design • Critical path actions for development, financing, and implementation • Co-ordinated decision-making • Packaging small projects • Timely availability of financing Our role • Focusing the technical work • Helping steer the consultants • Working with EU colleagues • Ensuring critical issues are addressed and timetable is met • Facilitating project supervision and contract administration • Timely provision of financing • Applying broad regional experience to issues on the ground, in capitals, and in Brussels.
