3. Selection criteria Identify existing government led institutional framework for project delivery that could help to inform the work of the Thematic Working Group (TWG) on SPCR institutional framework;

We are also in the process of reviewing other cases to help and inform the TWG on SPCR institutional framework:

161.5 M USD (committed fund) from development partners and 260.8 USD contribution from the government
Goal is to contribute towards poverty reduction through inclusive responsive and accountable local governance and participatory community led development
Major works:
Institutions, capacity national level
Infrastructure, social mobilizations and income generation

8. Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Fund Development Board (RWSSPs)
9. RWSSPs (Fund Board)- introduction The overall objective is to promote cost-effective and sustainable Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Projects (RWSSPs) with full emphasis on community ownership and responsibility.
Funds: 27 M USD (2004 to 2010)
Main donor - World Bank, (DFID)
The project aims to reduce poverty and raise the living standard of rural people through provision of drinking water and sanitation services

11. Relevance to PPCR Wider coverage: currently working in 62 districts
In 2009 (8th Batch): about 415 projects, approx 60,000 households
Working directly with NGOs and community - a key element of PPCR implementation
Fiduciary risk management protocols have been developed and agreed by the DPs
Climate change is not considered in existing project planning process
Possible add-on projects in this programme
27. Concluding Remarks Different fund flow and implementation modalities exist.
All programs face risk from climate change and are interested in integrating climate risk management.
But not adequate protocol, procedures for climate change risk assessment and management.
Working with these existing mechanisms can facilitate:
Fast SPCR fund flow
Fast implementation of SPCR activities at community level
Have pre-approved fiduciary management protocols
