What is Accelerated Science? • This is a rigorous course blending content from current level material to upper level content. • Purpose: Prepare students for advanced high school courses • Classwork is based on science processing skills constructed through labs and investigations.
7th Grade Accelerated Content • Earth Systems = 6 weeks • Chemistry = 6 weeks • Physics = 6 weeks • Solar System = 5 weeks • Life Science = 11 weeks • Health = 3 weeks

Syllabus: Need to Know Items • College Prep Course • Content is accelerated • Grading reflects high school grading • Students accountable for absences/missing work • Studying outside of class is expected • Classwork/Homework: 10 point scale however is not calculated in grade • Used to measure understanding • Labs & Projects 40% of quarter grade • Comprehensive Quizzes & Tests 60% of quarter grade • Semester Grade: • Quarter 1/3 = 40% • Quarter 2/4 = 40% • Semester Exam = 20 %
