  3. WV Writes features… a new look: • New colorful, user-friendly interface for teachers and students • Separate URL addresses for teacher/administrator and student logins • Teacher/Administrator login: https://admin.wvwrites.com • Student login: https://student.wvwrites.com

WV Writes features… improved scoring: • A WV scoring engine trained using sample WV student papers from the 2008 WESTEST 2 Online Writing Field Test • Scoring based on WV Writing Rubrics and five analytic writing traits: • Organization • Development • Sentence Structure • Word Choice/Grammar Usage • Mechanics • Annual calibration of scoring for reliability and validity

WV Writes features… unlimited writing practice: • 34 passages and prompts selected from the 2008 WESTEST 2 Online Writing Field Test • 162 grade-level shelf prompts • Opportunity for teachers in all content areas to create their own prompts • Unlimited practice sessions for students in grades 3-12 • Opportunity for immediate scores and narrative feedback matching West Virginia’s Writing Rubrics • Free access to all public schools
