  3. What’s New?For the 2013-14 FLKRS Administration • Monitoring features were added to the Progress Monitoring and Reporting Network (PMRN) in 2012-13 for School Districts to track the level of completion by their schools. • District testing coordinators should monitor the progress of all schools in entering their ECHOSTM and FAIR scores during the first 30 instructional days and insure that all schools have submitted their scores prior to the 30th day. 3 3

  4. What’s New?For the 2013-14 FLKRS Administration • Open 30 Day Window – When principals register their schools they are required to enter the first date of classes which creates the calendar that determines the 30 day window. Teachers should log in and change their password prior to the start of school so they have access to the PMRN for 30 instructional days. All scores will be automatically saved by system on the 30th day. • Based on our August 8th start date, our FLKRS window is August 8 – September 20, 2013 • Public schools who do not use the Florida Assessments for Instruction in Reading – K (FAIR-K) for progress monitoring ONLYneed to administer theEarly Childhood Observation System™ (ECHOS™) and the Broad Screen of the FAIR-K. 4 4

  5. RemindersFor the 2013-14 FLKRS Administration • Public schools arerequiredto administer the FLKRS (FAIR-K and ECHOSTM) online. • Non-public schools may administer both portions of the FLKRS. • FLKRS Kits are sent directly to districts and non-public schools. • If you are a non-public school and need a FLKRS kit, please contact Tom Mims at the DOE at Tom.Mims@FLDOE.org 5 5

  48. FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview Planning for Observations Teachers should review the benchmarks and domains so they are familiar with the behaviors and skills they need to observe and the context Incidental observations Planned observations they should be observed in. 48

  49. FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview Planning for Observations With careful planning, it is possible to complete FLKRS/ECHOS™ for a class of students within the first 30 school days, using various types of class activities. Whole Class Large Group Small Group Individual 49

  50. FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview Administration Requirements ECHOS™ should be completed by a teacher trained in its administration. Kindergarten teachers may NOT administer the ECHOS™ to students they taught in VPK. 50
