  1. Direct Objects • Direct objects come immediately after verbs • Ex. Milad watched the teacher. • verb D.O. • Transitive verbs must have a direct object. • Ex. Enjoy, like, give, take, bring, find • NO-Vicki likes. • YES-Vicki likes the students.

  2. Direct Objects • Write sentences using bring, find, and give. • Ex. The woman brought her dog to school.

  3. Indirect Objects • Indirect Objects tell to whom, or to what the action of the verb is directed. • Ex. Jia took the book to Diba. • There are two positions for I.O.- after the D.O., or between the verb and the D.O. • Ex. Jia took the book to Diba. • Jia took Diba the book • Do not use “to” if the I.O. comes after the verb.

  4. Indirect Objects • Write 2 sentences with the I.O. after the verb • Ex. The dolphin gave a ball to the man. • Write 2 sentences with the I.O. between the verb and D.O. • Ex. The dolphin gave the man a ball. • I.O. D.O.
