  1. The life and schooling of Peter Michael Gardiner By Rosie

  2. In August 1936 Peter Gardiner was born to a family of six.Peter was born in Gisborne , Victoria.

  3. His schooling days were spent at the local Catholic school calledSt. Brigid’s Primary School.Peter had many friends who he still meets up with today.

  4. Unlike us, he had one classroom with all the grades from prep to year 8.Peter had 1 teacher the whole time he was at school, her name was Miss Mary Slattery. She taught him through all his grades and taught all subjects.

  5. Most of the subjects he was taught are the same today but they have different names like arithmetic and geography.

  6. The games he played were different as well.Some of the games he played were Hoppo-Bumpoand Bulldog.His favorite game was football because he could pretend to be a VFL (Victorian football league)player.

  7. Peter walked to and from school everyday,250 paces (about 200 meters).

  8. Since he left, the school has changed, actually its completely gone but they built a new one at the top of the property.Also Mary Slattery has died and the nuns have come and gone.

  9. He left in Grade five and went to the Gisborne State School number 262 and then on to Assumption College in Kilmore.

  10. He finished school in 1951 and commenced a motor mechanic apprenticeship in Melbourne at Alan-Coffey motors.

  11. He is still working as a mechanic at the popular “Gardiner's Garage” in Gisborne.He has married and raised a family in Gisborne as well.
