Online Team- Project Manager

Simplify collaborating on group projects, view available time slots, facilitate decision-making through voting, and use UW's UWnetID authentication system. Motivated by the need for a user-friendly project management tool. Vision includes MS Visual Studio, ASP.NET, C#, Team Suite, and MS SQL Server 2005. Lifecycle plan involves UWCSE student support initially, and outside of UW may require interfacing with other authentication systems. Feasibility: Initial implementation in 4-5 weeks, further testing and feature additions. Expect efficiency improvement upon full functionality.

  2. Concept • Simplifies process of collaborating with teammates on group projects. • Displays mutually available time periods of the group. • Facilitates meeting time and project feature proposals using voting system. • Use UW’s existing UWnetID authentication system and class schedule data.

  3. Motivation • Existing project management systems are prohibitively expensive, overly complicated, and cluttered with features. • Goal is to provide an intuitive visual interface to coordinate project meetings and features. • Instructors could give an in class, 10-minute introduction to program.

  4. Vision

  5. Vision

  6. System Description • MS Visual Studio 2005 • ASP.NET • C# • Web Developer • Team Suite • MS SQL Server 2005

  7. Lifecycle Plan • Initially developed and supported by UWCSE students & hardware. • For other UW departments, they would supply hardware and follow installation guide. • Outside of UW would require interfacing with their authentication system.

  8. Feasibility • Great! • Should take ~4-5 weeks to implement fully functional core. • Rest of quarter spent on testing & addition of features. • Once fully functional, efficiency will skyrocket as we start using it. 
