About the Survey On 19 March the secretariat sent out a survey to the members of Promote Pollinators in order to collect input for the development of our working programme. The survey was closed on Monday 8 April, receiving a total of 19 replies. In this presentation we discuss the most important outcomes.
Commitment 1: Taking action to protect pollinators and their habitats by developing national pollinator strategies
Where do our members place themselves in taking action? To take a next step, members need most: • Knowledge on how to integrate policy on pollinators • Information from other members on how they developed a national pollinator strategy
Commitment 2: Sharing experiences and lessons learnt on new approaches, innovations and best practices
Where do our members place themselves in taking action? To take a next step, members need most: • To learn more about approaches for pollinator conservation • Exchange knowledge on interaction between wild and domesticated bees • Exchange knowledge on wild pollinator species and their host plants
Commitment 3: Reach out to and seek collaboration with a broad spectrum of stakeholders
Where do our members place themselves in taking action? To take a next step, members need most: 1. To share knowledge between Agricultural and Environmental sectors 2. Cooperation with other sectors 3. Coordinated action at field level
Commitment 4: Develop research that helps to fill knowledge gaps on pollinator conservation
To take a next step, members need most: • Data-sharing between environmental and agricultural sectors • Developing a monitoring scheme Where do our members place themselves in taking action?
Commitment 5: Mutually support and collaborate with each other
To make a next step, members need most: • Jointly develop guidelines for national strategies • Identify common research priorities • Initiate cross-border implementation at field • Offer specific topics for presentation at a Coalition event Where do our members place themselves in taking action?
