  2. Since the new England colonies didn’t have fertile soil. Whaling was a very successful way to make money. This also helped the shipbuilders make money because the people needed ships to hunt whales

  3. The hunters used all the whale parts. For example, they used the whale oil for street lighting and lubricating machinery. Also they used the whale oil for soap.

  4. Whaling was a hard struggle because you would have to carry the whale to shore. It was also a happy occasion because the kids get out of school and you get a large profit from selling the whale parts.

  5. My topic is important to learn ,because it tells about the environment as well as the economy. It shows that whales were always in of going extinct. It also shows how the colonists made money.
