  3. Respect: How do you get it? When do you give it? Answer these questions and discuss the film based on your answers. You usually get respect from people if they either like or fear you. You should give respect when others are speaking in a presentation, watching a movie, etc. No respect was shown in the movie towards the new teacher because while she was trying to teach, no one bothered to listen and ignored the whole thing. a.   4. Warrior In the game, Warrior, you must make a profile and pick either the barbarian with a sword or an elf with a bow and arrow. You are in 1400 A.D. in Egypt and a band of crazy barbarians have run through your town killing everyone including your family. You are the only survivor and swear to receive vengeance. The goal is to destroy anyone who comes through your path and level up to purchase better weapons and become stronger as you destroy more and more enemies. You must travel through 10 levels and at the end of each level there will be a strong boss in your way. You must destroy him and at the end of level 10, you will face the man in charge of destroying your family and town. The person who beats this game first will receive 1,000 dollars and their name will be put on Warrior’s official site. You must be at least 13 to play and must pay 5 dollars to create an account. a. This is special because it is about a game that I would publish b. I choose this because it is creative c. I was inspired to write this by Miss Rowson d. Me Poem I am an athlete who wants to be the best I want to score the winning goal I am flawless in my swimming I feel no pain I want to continue on I am a fighter I feel a rush of adrenaline I understand what comes next. I say I will win the championship. a. This is special because it was the first poem written in Writing Seminar b. I choose this because it was one of my favorite poems. c.   6. The Letter Michelle Bae Mom 515 Welsh Road Huntington Valley, PA 19006 2/19/08 Dear Mom, The purpose of this letter is to convince you into letting me get a permit as soon as possible. Hopefully this letter will give a good enough explanation into letting me get a permit. The best time to get a permit is as soon as I turn 16. I hope that you will consider letting me get a permit on my 16th birthday. I have come up with great ideas and reasons on why getting a permit will help the whole family. These reasons will not only benefit me, but it will also benefit the whole family too. You will see that the faster I get my permit, the more help the family will get. In my opinion, getting a permit as soon as possible would be a great help to the family because getting a permit quicker will result in getting a license quicker. Once I get my license no one in the family will be annoyed or bothered. Being able to drive, I will not have to annoy and ask anyone for a ride everyday. Also, a big help to the family is that Terry and Rachael can be picked up from school anytime you are busy and unable to pick them up. I can also drive them to sport practices or the movies anytime the family is busy. I will run chores around the house by driving to the supermarket and buying food that is needed. Another big factor is that I will be able to drive to school myself. This is a big help because I miss the bus often and you end up getting mad because you have to drive me to school.

  7. The Letter Hopefully all of these reasons have convinced you in letting me get my permit as soon as possible. I know you can trust me with the car. The car would be treated as if it were my own child. Also, I would do anything else in order to convince you including things such as driving to pick up supplies, drive to your shop to help out with work, and other things that would help. I promise you that I will not abuse these rights by staying out all night with the car and coming home past midnight.   9. Sleep Once in a while, everybody finds themselves sluggish and tired at work or school. Have you ever felt this way? What is needed is a long, good sleep. It will make your body feel better and you will feel more alive and awake. Getting more sleep will greatly help you to complete your goals with enthusiasm. Sleep is a state of bodily rest which is essential for survival. It is as important as food, drinks, and air. Sleep can greatly impact a person’s performance the next day. As well as improving performance, it also feels very good and relaxing. Enough sleep can increase your performance in school and work. On the other hand, a lack of sleep can cause sleep disorders and the easiest tasks can be exceptionally tiring. Kids need around 8-10 hours of sleep. Next, teens should get about 8-9 hours and finally adults should receive about 7-8 hours. Therefore if find yourself very tired and exhausted, learn how to include more hours of sleep every night. a. This is special because I love sleep. It’s very important! b. I choose this because it shows my opinions on sleep. c. I was inspired to write it because I was sleepy that day. d. It enhances everything because it has good facts of sleep inside of these paragraphs and I love sleep.

  10. Steroids Even though steroids increase muscle faster and help you increase muscle easier, there are many bad side effects of using them. Here is a list of side effects of using steroids. • Using steroids can result to water retention, or swelling in the neck and face. • It can cause disgusting acne in the back and neck. • It can increase the breast of men while decreasing the breast of women. • Using steroids can cause serious anger problems called roid rage. • Men can result to the shrinkage of testacles. • High blood pressure may result to using steroids. • Cardiovascular disease may occur. • At first, high sexual demands may occur. But eventually the opposite may occur and no erections may occur. • Using steroids is illegal unless prescribed by a doctor and in competitions, it is definitely considered cheating. • The muscles gained from steroids can eventually wear away. • The bones in your body get weaker and break easily. • Using steroids can get you seriously addicted to them.

  11. Steroids What Can You Do To Gain Muscle Without Cheating? Many people ignore the side effects and take steroids because it gets the results of gaining muscles faster. Here is a list of how to gain muscles WITHOUT using steroids and WITHOUT cheating your way to gain muscle. • Go to the gym and lift weights. • Run a mile a day. • Have a well balanced diet. • Play sports which get you really active. • Do workouts which include pull ups, push ups, sit ups, etc. a. This is special because I hate people who use steroids. b. I choose this to warn people about steroids. c. I was inspired because I don’t like Barry Bonds for using steroids. d.
