  2. Early Years • When Joe Louis Barrow was four years old his father died. • Joe Louis Barrow was the seventh out of eight children. Joe Louis was born May 13, 1914 IN Lexington , Alabama. Joe died April 12 , 1981 in Las Vegas , Nevada. • Joe Louis grew up on the south side of Chicago. Joe had a large family and he was close to his mother. • Joe wade 11 pounds at birth.

  3. Middle Years • When Joe Louise's step father lost his job Joe and his brother got a job they ran errands , shined shoes and sold news papers before and after school. Joe also worked as an assistant ice wagon driver. • Joes step fathers last name was Brookes. • Joe Louis liked to box as a child. When Joe was 11 years old he started to boxes.

  4. Why this Person is Famous • As a teenager Joe was the best boxer in his group. • At nineteen Joe won the National Light Heavy Weight Crown of the Golden Gloves in 1933. • Joe Louis is famous for being a great boxer.
